Preparing for your session

Your horse should be in a safe and familiar environment. Plan to give them a few extra moments to adjust before the session takes place. 

Often sessions takes place outside. If so, please provide a source of protection from the elements (rain, snow, wind, heat etc). The environment needs be clean and flat to work in. 

 Sessions should occur in a location where they can come to a natural end and be done at a time when distractions are minimal. 

Please remove any feed from the area. 

Stalled horses benefit from being turnout prior to a session. 

Masterson Method®  works best with cold muscles so avoid intensive workouts the day of your session. 

To ensure the sessions focus is on bodywork, please have your horse groomed and free of excessive dirt.

If you're scheduling a follow up session and will not be present, please let me know ahead of time. An extra fee  is added should I need to halter and groom a horse prior to beginning a session. 

While in most scenarios, owners do not need to be present for the entirety of the session, there are instances where a handler is required. 

If you choose to watch, please remain still and quiet and do not interact with horse. 

I am happy to answer questions during rest periods or after the session is complete. 

If you need to cancel a session and would like to receive a full refund, please do so at least 24 hours prior to your appointments start time.

 I am committed to providing your horse with a comprehensive bodywork session in which I will identify areas holding tension and help facilitate the releasing of that tension with the goal of improving performance, range of motion, movement and the overall well being of your horse. 

I am here to share and be transparent with my knowledge. I am open to conversating with you as well as other providers within your horse's wellness program to bring forth all opportunities of success for both horses and owners. 

Masterson Method®  bodywork is not a substitute for medical treatment or medications.  As a bodyworker, I am unable to diagnose, treat or give medical advice. 

If your horse is lame, ill, injured or has a medical condition that may be of concern, please consult your veterinarian first. In these scenarios, bodywork must be cleared by a vet prior to a session taking place. 

An intake form and liability waiver must be completed before the sessions start time. 

The intake form gives me a better understanding of your horse's physical and emotional history, their typical daily routine and of the goals you share together. Having this information gives me a clearer vision of how (and where) I can best help and guide things during our session.
