When a horse is confronted with discomfort their natural prey animal response is to brace or hide from that stimulus. As a Masterson Method ® Certified Practitioner, I work with a horse to help them release accumulated tension that tends to gather in specific key junctions that most affect performance. The techniques themselves tend to use a less-is-more approach, and all require the horse to actively participate in the process. By tuning into the horses cues and remaining under that instinctual nature to brace or avoid, I'm able to best access their nervous system to release built-up tension.
Being able to release this tension is an integral component to the wellbeing of a horse. The anatomy of the horse is such that all pieces are interconnected. When one area is experiencing tension, a separate region is often impacted and will ultimately have to compensate for it. In time, structures that are forced to work in ways they simply were not designed to - weaken. Then discomfort and tension progressively invade. However, when these patterns can be identified and the tension released, the cycle is interrupted, and the horse is given the opportunity to mend and rediscover a more balanced disposition and improved ability to perform.
With a lifelong history with horses, I am always seeking ways to continue learning and involving myself in the equine industry. In 2016, I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Equine Science and in 2023 became a Masterson Method ® Certified Practitioner. This certification program required a minimum of 426 contact hours of combined instruction including online coursework, 30 case studies, and many hours working hands-on with horses and coaches.
I feel grateful to work in a field in which I have so much passion and love for. On days I am not working on horses, I enjoy spending time riding my own. While I showed in my youth, my current outlet is trail riding on my family’s place north of Bozeman. I am also a mother to a beautiful 5-year-old who I love adventuring with. Outside of horses, I enjoy mountain biking and skiing with my husband, camping, hiking with my chocolate lab, travel, and being with those I love.
I understand firsthand the significance of the role horses can play in our lives. Our lifestyles can be shaped from our interactions with them as they often become our mental stabilizers and our truest of companions. Curating your horse’s wellness program is fundamental to their success, and being a valued provider within that circle is where I strive to set myself. I welcome any questions you may have and look forward to the opportunity to further connect.
'I just had to share that I rode Wistful yesterday, and my trainer was able to film our ride, and WOW. I have never seen her move so relaxed and fluidly! I think the bodywork is helping her so much. My trainer said so too. I just wanted to thank you!'

'I do believe that Heelow really got a lot out of your work, Lizzi. He seems more outwardly engaged with his surroundings. He walks up to meet us when we enter his corral and he continues to do so after 6 months. Before your work on him, he just waited, stoically, for us to approach. I think the "new and more content" Heelow is here to stay.'

'Bravada felt AMAZING today, and our trainer noticed big changes. Pony was relaxed over her back, easier to bend, and even in rhythm. Please stay in touch - we definitely want to work with you more!'

'I've been able to ride Mel twice now and she is galloping through the field feeling great. After you worked on her she improved so much!'
